Mrs. Quamrun Nahar assumed the role of Controller General of Accounts, Bangladesh on May 6, 2024. She was born into a respected family in Ghatchek Gram under Rangunia Thana of Chittagong district on January 9, 1966. Her father's name is Abdul Munaf and her mother's name is Firoza Begum. In her personal life, she is married and has two children.
Education:
Mrs. Kamrun Nahar completed her secondary education in 1981 from Dr. Khastagir Balika High School, Chittagong. She passed her Higher Secondary Examination in 1983 from Chittagong College and subsequently enrolled in the Department of Management at Chittagong University. In 1986, she obtained her bachelor's degree and in 1987, she successfully completed her master's degree from Chittagong University.
Professional Experience:
Mrs. Kamrun Nahar joined as an Assistant Controller General of Accounts (Probationer) on December 11, 1991, after passing the 10th BCS (Audit and Accounts). Following professional training, she worked as Assistant Financial Advisor (Railways). Over time, she was promoted to Deputy Financial Advisor (Army), Divisional Controller of Accounts (DCA), Additional Financial Advisor (Railways), Financial Advisor and Chief Accounts Officer/East (Bangladesh Railways), Additional Director General (Finance), Bangladesh Railways, and finally served as Controller General of Defense Finance (CGDF).
